Kehät

Kehät (Circles)

The Kehät collection draws inspiration from an avant-garde silver headband designed by Paula Häiväoja in the 1960s. Ahead of its time, her sculptural design language is reinterpreted for today through earrings, a pendant, and an ear-cuff in silver.

Kehät means circles in Finnish.

Kehät – Paula Häiväoja’s design language in silver

The Kehät collection draws inspiration from an avant-garde silver headband designed by Paula Häiväoja in the 1960s. Its sculptural design language, ahead of its time, is reinterpreted for today.

Häiväoja was Kalevala Jewelry’s first female Chief Designer, from 1963 to 1967. She was known for ultra-modern gold and silver jewelry with bold, futuristic forms. Kehät opens Kalevala Jewelry’s 90th anniversary year, and every piece in the collection is stamped with the anniversary hallmark.

The collection includes the Kehät ring, necklace and earcuff, as well as small and large Kehät earrings. In the ring, silver wires accented by rhythmic silver beads form an open band that can be adjusted to fit. Choose a single piece or combine several.

Kehät jewelry is handcrafted from sterling silver at our own factory in Helsinki, Finland. More than 99% of the silver we use is recycled.
